An example
Lily & Her Understanding
Lilly
is 37 years old lady. She has passed Master in Education and Master in
English. She topped both the Degree from two popular universities of Nepal. She
has been teaching English Grammar, Communication to the students of various academic background. She also teaches for test preparation courses like IELTS
& PTE. She wants to help mainly the
females on counseling about how to deal with the children in doing homework.
Lily has also the heart to help women in counseling the home affairs, financial
management, growing children properly as well as helping them in their study to
practice and inspire with best learning strategies.
For
her bread and butter, she focuses herself in teaching English as well as test
preparation. In the morning, she goes to an educational consultancy and takes
preparation classes of IELTS & PTE. She takes three (3) classes normally
there. She returns home at 9:30 and after eating the lunch, she goes to visit the
women who need her support in the afternoon. She spends about another 3 hours
in social service, helping women in their care and counseling to children. She
encourages those women for their personal growth and development. Furthermore,
she highlights how important it is to live a happy married life. She encourages
the women to make beautiful relations with the husband. According to her, 'Mutual
help, respect and struggle are the beauty of life in which the position of
husband and wife are in core circle where children come in peripheral circle.'
She
has just started her own online portal including Website, Zoom, YouTube and
Facebook to support her students, clients and whoever needs counseling, training
and personality grooming and soft skills development. But she is little worry on how
Nepali students and other friends are cheated by the low quality people. For
example, the people who are standing as a teacher but don’t really teach,
people whose family is destroyed, divorced and separated often attempt to stand
as a family counselor.
I
have seen many people who have just completed school education (12 Pass/PCL)
but have been claiming best teacher to teach English Grammar and writing
to the students of Master Degree. On the other side, there are the fools who
consume their training and counseling. I have seen the teachers of college
and university rather than spending time on the issues, doing some research and
in-depth practice like to go bare feet and consume the garbage.
Here,
a similar story of a medical businessmen and a doctor, I have heard a story
from my friend, One guy as a gambler earned a lot of money from several white
and black business then sends his relative to study MBBS but the guy who went
to study MBBS did not complete the course rather he came with fake documents.
Those guys opened a grand hospital with inviting so many VIPs but within one
week, police went through the investigation and found the guilt and sealed the
hospital.
Another
'seen' is related to agriculture. Farmers grow vegetables and fruits but they
cannot get good price of their products. Those people who are in between of farmers
and consumers make a big money. Every day the number of farmers of our country is
decreasing. There is no proper monitoring and regulating organization. The
government of Nepal is doing something but it is not sufficient.

are the main problems in teaching and learning?
