Hello Everyone
Warm Greetings form UAE Dubai
Kumar Soni
My name is Kumar Soni. I have been working
here in LuLu Hypermarkets in Abudhabi since 2013. In the beginning, I had to
face many challenges, which was also usual. I am a Nepali Citizen and came here
in Dubai for the employment. Everybody knows that going abroad for the
employment. Nepal more specifically the western part like Karnali from where
majority of the youths go to India as unskilled labor.
LuLu Hypermarket
LuLu Hypermarket is one of the popular market
in gulf. It is the retail division that provides the goods and services such as
grocery, fresh food, electronic, mobiles and life styles related items and
facilities of the multidimensional and multinational LuLu Group International.
It has always been known as a trend setter of the retail industry in the
region. In present, LuLu symbolizes quality retailing more than 200 stores. It
is immensely popular with the sharp shoppers across the Gulf region.
With its pleasant and novel variation from
the usual supermarkets, LuLu offers an ultra-modern shopping atmosphere by
assimilating all conceivable needs of the consumers under one roof.
LuLu Hypermarkets has become popular not only
in the cities of the UAE. But it has become the most preferred shopping
destinations in GCC, Egypt, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Nepalese Scenario in Dubai
I am going to discuss the present scenario (Nepalese Scenario in Dubai) which is contributing many youths to go abroad for the employment. Many people
believe that going abroad for the employment is not bad in itself. Yes it is
the truth but the big question is "Do they go as per their choice?"
has to be considered with no condition.
Government has to play an important role in
promoting employment. All the Nepalese Citizens also have some sort of
responsibilities because we are not living for ourselves. We all would be happy
even to go abroad if we have many more opportunities and choices here.
Lets see the scenario of Nepal with regards
to the unemployment problems before I talk about myself, my experiences here in
Dubai.
Statistics and Experts' View about Dubai and Nepal with reference to International Labor
Nepal with no doubts has secured the top
smudge in job creation in South Asia, where employment rate balanced around
68%, mentioned in the report of the World Bank. This means 32 percent of the
country's working age population for example people aged of 15 to 64 are either
unemployed or voluntarily inactive which is the lowest in South Asia.
If you go to the Google Search the current
existing jobs in Nepal were 3.8 million wage jobs in Nepal in 2018. Similarly,
about 2.8 million Nepali people were employed in wage jobs in other countries in
the same year as per the record of the report. Of the total jobs added to the
economy since 2008, nearly half were wage jobs but could not addressed the
things as it was supposed.
The major consequences of unemployment
(Gilley 1993) noticed as compared with families who had an employed parent,
more mothers in families in which there was no parent employed reported,
serious health problems of young children, serious problems for themselves,
serious disagreements with the partner, and serious financial problems and
serious problems with housing etc.
According to the the formal record of the Nepal Embassy of UAE, All
Nepalese workers have to get the prior approval from the embassy before leaving
Nepal for the UAE. The foreign employers obviously have to get approval from
the embassy to their demand letter before recruiting workers from Nepal which
should be confirmed before the application process by the prospects workers.
The reports highlight that on workers reaching the UAE through India,
bypassing Nepal emigration authorities, experts often say Indian emigration
authorities generally do not permit it. It is reported that Government of Nepal
has taken up this matter with the Indian Government, the Indian emigration
authorities will ask the Nepalese travelers to produce the required documents
for going abroad, the experts explain.
My Conclusion
Everywhere there are pros and cons, however Dubai is one of the best destination for foreigner who wish to work here. It is equally suitable both for skilled labors and unskilled labors. However there are some bad examples as well. Some of the reports have been projecting that foreign labors are also exploited by some companies as well.
It is always recommended that you before
entering Dubai needs to know well, get some required trainings, have legal and
vivid working contracts etc. The facilities, bonus, extra time and basic salary
should be finalized before you move to Dubai.
THANK YOU!
